Experience changes in your vision of the world and in your heart through volunteering in V.I.A.C.!
We are looking for volunteers who would like to join the organization in work that we do, in the values we share, and in the vision for which we strive.
If you are not sure you want to go away for a whole year, you can volunteer with us for two months. It is a good amount of time to gain experience without being away from home for too long.

Orava Youth centre
Camps, retreats for confirmants, priests, and events are regularly held in this centre. Therefore, there is always a need for helpers with organisational tasks, household chores such as cleaning, cooking, manual work, doing everything what makes guests feel at home. This is a place to show God's love in a very practical way.
V.I.A.C. office
All the 'magic' with documents happens here. We need helpers for projects and trainings organised by V.I.A.C..
Also, there is an opportunity to work with the media in the communication section. Assistance is always needed for social media management and content creation.
Community centres
If you are interested in social work, then community centres in Trstena and Namestovo are perfect places to volunteer. These centers help families in need, children, and teenagers. Volunteers can come here to help deliver food, assist children with homework, teach English, and engage in other social and humanitarian activities.
Volunteering section
If you believe in volunteering that causes real and valuable effects on people, communities, and society in general, then come and help develop that throughout Slovakia! In this section, people work with organisations, schools, and communities interested in involving volunteers. Come here and help create campaigns to promote volunteering!
Communication team
Main tasks to do:
Taking pictures;
Video editing;
Content creating for social media.
Afternoon club in Sinaj
We organise various afternoon activities for teenagers, such as drawing, singing, acting, and cooking. We also play board games, and there's a chance to experience VR. The aim is to build community of youngsters who want to live full and meaningful life according to Christian values.

Duration
12 months
Main volunteering activities
You will work 5 days a week, with your schedule typically ranging from 30 to 35 hours per week, depending on the events you participate in.
The volunteer program includes the following activities:
Communication Team: you can join to work with media. Create content for social media about the organization, film, edit, etc. Help is also needed with various marketing campaigns, creating posters, and other media outputs.
Assisting in schools, kindergartens, and senior homes: Volunteers have the opportunity to help in schools and kindergartens by preparing lessons and teaching English. They can also visit senior homes to spend time with seniors and take care of them.
Project Section: Assistance is greatly needed in the project section to handle documents, communication, and organize projects, workshops, youth exchanges, and trainings, mostly done under Erasmus+.
Support for volunteer
To help volunteer adapt more quickly in Slovakia we offer weekly Slovak language lessons and personal mentor.
Accommodation
We provide a rented flat in Trstená with standard equipment for the normal standard living. Flat is shared with other volunteers.
In the apartment, there is already everything you might need: dishes, towels, etc.
There are shops in Trstená where you can buy everything you need for everyday life. There are also larger towns nearby where you can shop more if you wish.
Money, food
You will receive a monthly allowance of 340 / 345€ (including money for food – 180€, phone – 10€, 150/155€ pocket money, it depends on the number of days in the month) in your own bank account. All travel costs associated with the project are covered.
Traveling, coming here
The best way to get here is to take a flight to Krakow and then a bus ride to Jablonka, a town in Poland near Trstená, where we will pick you up.
Second option - take a flight to Bratislava and then catch two trains to Trstená.
All traveling expenses will be covered (amount of traveling is 275 € (together for coming and leaving).

Duration
The project lasts two months, but you can choose which months in period from June till September to come and volunteer. For example, June - July, July - August, August - September.
Accomodation

There are shops in Trstená where you can buy everything you need for everyday life. There are also bigger towns nearby where you can shop more if you want to.

Living in community you don't need to worry about food. Everything is provided, usually in community everyone eats togehter, but it is allowed to personally prepare your own food.
